About the IZh-KhR-30

The IZh-KhR-30 is a Soviet .22 Short semi-automatic sport target pistol built by the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant. Operating on a simple blowback action and fed from a six-round detachable magazine, it was designed for standard-pistol competitive shooting at 25 metres, offering an extended sight radius and adjustable target sights before being replaced by the IZh-34/IZh-35 series.

Together with the IZh-KhR-31, the IZh-KhR-30 was the mainstay Soviet standard sport pistol of the 1970s, drilling generations of DOSAAF marksmen on the 25-metre range before the IZh-34/35 pair retired it at the decade's end.
