About the Beistegui Libia

The Beistegui Libia is a Spanish vest-pocket semi-automatic pistol chambered in .25 ACP, manufactured by Beistegui Hermanos in Eibar during the 1920s and 1930s. It was an inexpensive copy of the John Browning-designed FN Model 1906, employing a simple blowback action with a striker-fired mechanism and a grip safety. Many examples were exported through the Fabrique d'Armes de Guerre de Grande Precision sales house and are marked accordingly.

Beistegui Hermanos was one of the most prolific of the Eibar arms makers, also known for its Royal-brand pistols. The Libia name reflects the export-oriented trade of cheap Spanish pocket pistols in the years between the World Wars.
