About the Beretta 84 Cheetah
The Beretta 84 Cheetah is a compact, blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP. Introduced in 1976 as part of Beretta's Series 80 (Cheetah) family, it features an all-metal aluminum-alloy frame, a traditional double-action/single-action trigger, an exposed hammer, and a notably high double-stack 13-round magazine capacity for its class. Lightweight and soft-shooting, the Model 84 became a popular concealed-carry and civilian sidearm that shares much of the styling and ergonomics of the larger Beretta 92.
The Cheetah series was Beretta's compact answer to the European pocket-pistol market of the 1970s, giving shooters Beretta 92-style looks and ergonomics in a small, easy-shooting .380 package with an unusually generous magazine capacity.
