About the Blaser B97
The Blaser B97 is a German break-action over/under (Bock) shotgun introduced in 1997 as the successor to the single-lock B95. Built around Blaser's signature manual cocking system and a double-lock breech, it features free-floating barrels that expand independently for consistent point of impact, automatic ejectors and engraved sideplates. The B97 break-action system was also offered as the BBF 97 combination gun (a rifle barrel over a 12-gauge shotgun barrel) and the BB97 double rifle. It was discontinued when Blaser introduced the F3 over/under shotgun in 2005.
Blaser's B95/B97 break guns pioneered the brand's manual cocking system on a break-action platform: the gun is only cocked by a thumb slide when the hunter is ready to fire, so it can be carried loaded but fully de-cocked and safe.

The B95/B97 designation reflects the locking system: the B95 used a single lock while the B97 introduced a double lock for stronger, more durable lock-up. The same platform underpinned the BBF combination guns and BB double rifles, with interchangeable barrel sets. Dimensions listed are typical for the 12-gauge over/under sporting configuration; combination and rifle-barrel sets used shorter (~600 mm) barrels.
