About the Cimarron Arizona Ranger Competition
The Cimarron Arizona Ranger Competition is a single-action revolver built as a competition-tuned reproduction of the Colt Single Action Army (Peacemaker). Introduced in 2023 for Cowboy Action Shooting competitors, it is manufactured for Cimarron by F.lli Pietta of Italy and chambered in .357 Magnum with a six-round fluted cylinder. It features a color-casehardened steel frame, blued barrel and cylinder, checkered walnut grips, an engraved barrel, and a gunsmith-tuned action, and is offered with 4.75-inch and 5.5-inch barrels.
Cimarron founder Mike Harvey named the Arizona Ranger in honor of the Arizona Rangers, a mounted law enforcement agency created by the Arizona Territorial Legislature in 1901 to suppress train robbery, cattle rustling, and outlawry as the territory pushed toward statehood.
