About the Cimarron Rooster Shooter

The Cimarron Rooster Shooter is a single-action revolver chambered in .45 Colt, built on the classic 1873 Colt Single Action Army pattern by Uberti of Italy and imported by Cimarron Firearms. Part of Cimarron's Hollywood series, it is a screen-accurate replica of the Colt Single Action Army carried by John Wayne as U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn in the 1969 Western 'True Grit,' the role for which Wayne won his Academy Award. It features a 4.75-inch barrel, a six-shot cylinder, fixed sights, an Original blued and color case-hardened finish, and a distinctive one-piece orange-tinted 'yellowed ivory' finger-grooved grip.

The revolver honors Rooster Cogburn, the one-eyed, hard-drinking U.S. Marshal played by John Wayne in 'True Grit' (1969). The original screen gun inspiration came from the Cimarron Firearms collection, and the yellowed 'ivory' finger-grooved grip recreates the look of Wayne's on-screen Colt.

Cimarron Rooster Shooter specifications

Model number RS410. Like all traditional single-action Army revolvers, it is safest carried with the hammer down on an empty chamber (load five, carry five). The finger-grooved grip material had to be specially remade by Cimarron as it had not been produced for roughly 50 years.
