About the CZ 75 P-01

The CZ 75 P-01 is a compact, aluminum-alloy-framed semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, developed by CZ (Ceska Zbrojovka) as a duty and concealed-carry evolution of the full-size CZ 75. Unlike the manual-safety CZ 75 B, the P-01 uses a hammer-fired double-action/single-action mechanism with a decocking lever, allowing the pistol to be carried hammer-down with a chambered round for a quick first double-action shot. It retains the CZ 75 family's distinctive slide-inside-frame rail layout for a low bore axis and good pointability, and adds an integrated accessory rail. Introduced in 2001, it was adopted by the Police of the Czech Republic in 2002 and received NATO certification, carrying its own NATO Stock Number.

Derived from the celebrated CZ 75 that emerged from behind the Iron Curtain in 1975, the P-01 was engineered to meet exacting NATO and Czech police testing standards, including a torture regimen of tens of thousands of rounds, becoming a symbol of Czech small-arms engineering trusted for daily carry.

The P-01 was among the first NATO-certified handguns made commercially available to the public. Early production magazines held 14 rounds; later commercial production is commonly offered with 15-round magazines. The Omega variant introduced a simplified, user-serviceable trigger mechanism.

This is a variant of the CZ (Ceska Zbrojovka) 75 B.
