About the Daisy 717

The Daisy 717 is a single-pump pneumatic .177 caliber air pistol introduced by Daisy in 1979 as an affordable entry-level target pistol. A single stroke of its side-mounted cocking lever charges the gun to full power, firing a single pellet at roughly 360 feet per second through a rifled steel barrel. With a molded grip featuring a right-hand thumbrest, an adjustable rear sight, and a cross-bolt trigger-block safety, it sits at the base of Daisy's Avanti target line and is widely used for plinking and beginner marksmanship training.

Daisy, founded in 1886 and best known for its lever-action BB guns, introduced the 717 as a low-cost gateway into pneumatic target shooting, with skilled shooters able to keep half-inch groups at ten meters.
