About the Gamo Swarm Magnum

The Gamo Swarm Magnum is a break-barrel, gas-piston repeating air rifle made by the Spanish manufacturer Gamo, positioned as the most powerful model in the multi-shot Swarm line. Like the rest of the Swarm family it feeds from a 10-shot horizontal rotary magazine that indexes automatically each time the barrel is broken and closed, but the Magnum pairs this with an oversized 33mm cylinder and the IGT Mach 1 Inert Gas Technology piston to reach higher velocities than the standard Swarm Maxxim. In .22 (5.5mm) it drives alloy pellets at advertised velocities up to about 396 m/s (1,300 fps). The rifle uses Gamo's Whisper Fusion dual sound-dampening system, a two-stage adjustable Custom Action Trigger (CAT), an all-weather glass-filled nylon thumbhole stock with a recoil-absorbing butt pad, and an 11mm dovetail rail typically supplied with a 3-9x40 scope.

Gamo, founded in Barcelona in 1959, takes its name from the Spanish word for fallow deer and grew from a lead-pellet maker into one of the world's largest airgun manufacturers. The Swarm line was its answer to the long-standing limitation of break-barrel airguns: single-shot loading. The Swarm Magnum extended that auto-indexing magazine concept into Gamo's high-power tier, marketing itself as a magnum-class hunting airgun with rapid follow-up shots.

The Swarm Magnum sits above the Swarm Maxxim in Gamo's range, using a larger 33mm compression cylinder and the IGT Mach 1 piston for greater muzzle energy. Cocking effort is around 41 lbs (about 182 N). Later revisions include the 10X Gen 2 and the electronically shot-counting 10X GEN3i Pro. Also offered in .177 caliber, where advertised alloy-pellet velocity reaches up to about 1,650 fps.
