About the Hämmerli 212

The Hämmerli 212 is a semi-automatic, blowback-operated .22 Long Rifle target pistol built by the Swiss maker Hämmerli of Tiengen. Derived from the company's International/208-series match pistols, the 212 - known in German as the Jägerschaftspistole - was configured for the German hunters' association (DJV) rapid silhouette discipline, a timed event drawn and fired at 25 metres. It combines an all-steel frame and slide with checkered wooden grips, a laterally adjustable rear sight, and a crisp single-action match trigger with a trigger stop, and export examples were fitted with an added manual safety at the trigger guard to satisfy the DJV rulebook.

The 212's odd trigger-guard safety exists purely for paperwork: German hunting-sport (DJV) rules demanded a manual safety, so Hämmerli fitted one to the otherwise safety-less International-series match pistol just so it could be used in the association's three-second silhouette duel event.

Hämmerli 212 specifications
