About the Henry Explorer H12
The Henry Explorer H12 is the pistol-caliber member of Henry's Explorer Carbine line, introduced in May 2026 in .357 Magnum/.38 Special or .44 Magnum/.44 Special with a seven-round tubular magazine. It uses the same 16.5-inch threaded barrel, Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish, adjustable sights and drilled-and-tapped receiver as its larger-bore siblings, making it a light, quiet-running companion to a magnum revolver.
A .357 lever gun and a .357 revolver sharing one box of ammunition is a habit that dates to the 1870s, when Winchester and Colt both chambered .44-40 so a rider only had to carry one cartridge.
