About the Howa M1100
The Howa M1100 is a Japanese bolt-action rimfire rifle introduced around 2020 by Howa Machinery and imported to North America by Legacy Sports International. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, it pairs a 457 mm (18 in) varmint-contour barrel cut with HK-style polygonal rifling and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle to a detachable ten-round steel magazine and an oversized tactical bolt handle. Marketed for plinking, small-game hunting, varmint control, and target shooting, it is also offered in .22 WMR and .17 HMR chamberings and in synthetic, OD-green, and walnut stock options.
Howa Machinery of Aichi, Japan, is best known for military rifles such as the Type 64 and Type 89 and for its centerfire Model 1500 bolt actions; the M1100 brought that bolt-action reputation to an affordable rimfire platform.
