About the Marlin XT-22
The Marlin XT-22 is an American bolt-action rimfire rifle introduced in 2011 as the .22 Long Rifle member of Marlin's XT family, which also included .22 WMR (XT-22M) and .17 HMR (XT-17) chamberings. It pairs a 16-groove Micro-Groove rifled barrel with a Pro-Fire user-adjustable trigger, a red cocking indicator, a walnut-finished hardwood Monte Carlo stock, and a receiver that is grooved and drilled-and-tapped for scope mounting. The XT-22 feeds from interchangeable detachable box magazines (some variants accept tubular magazines), with the standard rifle using a 22-inch barrel and weighing about 6 lb. Accurate and affordable, the XT series was Marlin's modern bolt-action rimfire line until production ceased with Remington's 2020 bankruptcy.
The XT line was Marlin's early-2010s attempt to modernize its bolt-action rimfire range with an adjustable Pro-Fire trigger and interchangeable magazines, just before the brand's North Haven plant closed and production moved under Remington.
