About the Pedersoli Harper's Ferry 1805 Pistol
The Pedersoli Harper's Ferry 1805 Pistol is a modern Italian-made reproduction of the U.S. Model 1805, the first martial pistol produced by an American government armory. Manufactured by Davide Pedersoli & Co., it is a single-shot .58 caliber muzzle-loading flintlock pistol with a rifled 10.1-inch barrel cut with a 1:48-inch twist, a hand-fitted walnut stock, brass furniture and a case-hardened lock. Unlike the .54 caliber smoothbore original, the reproduction is chambered in a larger rifled .58 bore for accurate round-ball target and re-enactment shooting.
The original Model 1805 was the first pistol made by a U.S. national armory at Harpers Ferry, Virginia; Pedersoli's replica helped launch the post-war reproduction era that put historically styled black-powder arms back into the hands of shooters and re-enactors.

Historical reproduction. Pedersoli departs from the original in two ways: the bore is enlarged to .58 caliber and rifled with a 1:48-inch twist, where the historical Model 1805 was a .54 caliber smoothbore. Also offered as a build-it-yourself kit (K.320.580) and in a later percussion-conversion configuration.
