About the Pietta Great Western II General Patton
The Pietta Great Western II General Patton is a single-action cartridge revolver, a deluxe laser-engraved edition of Pietta's Colt 1873 Single Action Army reproduction chambered in .45 Colt. Distributed in the United States by EMF Company, it honors General George S. Patton's famous ivory-gripped Colt SAA with a stainless-steel finish, factory scroll engraving, simulated-ivory grips and a 4.75-inch barrel. A transfer-bar safety allows safe carry with all six chambers loaded, a modern feature absent from the original 1873 Colt.
The General Patton edition evokes the most recognizable sidearm of World War II - General George S. Patton's ivory-handled single-action Colt, which he wore as a personal signature throughout his career. Patton himself was quick to correct anyone who called the grips 'pearl,' insisting they were ivory. Pietta's homage recreates that flourish in a modern, transfer-bar-safe Single Action Army reproduction, one of dozens of named models in the sprawling Great Western II catalog.
