About the Remington 673 Guide Rifle

The Remington 673 Guide Rifle is a short-action, bolt-action hunting rifle introduced by Remington Arms in 2003. Built on the compact Model Seven short action, it is distinguished by a 22-inch barrel topped with a full-length ventilated rib, a dark-and-light tan laminate stock with checkering, and an integral iron front and rear sight set. Offered chiefly in .350 Remington Magnum, .300 Remington SAUM, 6.5mm Remington Magnum and .308 Winchester, it fed from a 3-round detachable box magazine and was marketed as a handy, hard-hitting guide and brush gun. Despite its distinctive looks, it had a brief production run and was discontinued in 2004.

The Model 673 was a deliberate throwback to Remington's 1960s Model 600 and 660 carbines, reviving the ventilated-rib barrel and stubby short-action profile for a new generation of magnum cartridges. Its brief two-year life has made it a sought-after collector's piece among Remington enthusiasts.
