About the Remington 700 SPS

The Remington 700 SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) is a bolt-action rifle built on the legendary Remington Model 700 action, introduced in 2005 as a value-priced replacement for the earlier Model 700 ADL and BDL Synthetic lines. It pairs the renowned twin-lug, push-feed Model 700 action and its 'three rings of steel' design with a black synthetic stock, an X-Mark Pro adjustable trigger, and a SuperCell recoil pad. Chambered here in .308 Winchester with a 24-inch heavy-contour barrel, the SPS is widely used for hunting, target shooting, and as an affordable platform for precision-rifle builds.

The Model 700 action at the heart of the SPS was designed by Remington engineer Mike Walker and has served as the basis for the U.S. Army M24 and U.S. Marine Corps M40 sniper rifles, making the 700 one of the most produced and most accurate bolt-action platforms in history.
