About the Remington Model 241 Speedmaster

The Remington Model 241 Speedmaster is a takedown semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. A John M. Browning design refined by C.C. Loomis, it fed from a tubular magazine housed in the buttstock and used a hammerless blowback action. Produced from 1935 to 1951 as an improved successor to the Model 24, it was prized as an elegant, reliable small-game and gallery rifle.

Introduced in 1935 as the improved, larger-caliber successor to Remington's Browning-designed Model 24, the Model 241 Speedmaster became a beloved plinking and small-game rifle. Its buttstock tube magazine and clean takedown design made it a fixture of shooting galleries and farm gun racks for decades.
