About the Remington Model 504
The Remington Model 504 is an American .22 LR bolt-action rimfire sporting rifle introduced in 2004. Built around a receiver machined from ordnance-grade steel for centerfire-class rigidity, it pairs a 20-inch button-rifled barrel with a fully adjustable trigger, dual extractors, a two-point bedded barreled action, and a six-round detachable box magazine. Marketed as a premium rimfire, it was produced only briefly before being discontinued around 2007.
Remington positioned the 504 as a flagship rimfire to rival the Anschütz and Kimber sporters, borrowing the 5-R rifling of its 40-XR target rifles, but the costly machined-steel design proved short-lived in the marketplace.
