About the Remington Model 725

The Remington Model 725 is a bolt-action hunting rifle introduced in 1958 as the company's premier-grade sporting rifle. Built on the proven Model 721/722 action, it added a checkered walnut Monte Carlo stock with a capped pistol grip, a hinged floorplate, sling swivels and an enlarged three-position safety. Chambered most commonly in .30-06 Springfield with a 22-inch barrel, it was a short-lived but well-regarded design before being superseded by the Model 700.

The Model 725 was Remington's brief attempt at a deluxe sporting rifle bridging the utilitarian Model 721/722 and the legendary Model 700 that replaced it in 1962, making surviving examples sought-after collector pieces.
