About the Remington Nylon 76
The Remington Nylon 76 is an American .22 Long Rifle lever-action carbine built around a self-lubricating Zytel nylon stock and receiver housing. Introduced in 1962 as the 'Trail Rider,' it was the only lever-action rifle Remington ever produced, feeding from a 14-round tubular magazine loaded through the buttstock. Its unusually short 30-degree lever stroke let Remington market it as the world's fastest lever-action rifle. Produced only until 1965, the Nylon 76 is now a scarce collector's item.
Marketed as the 'world's fastest lever action,' the Nylon 76 leaned on the space-age reputation of DuPont's Zytel nylon that Remington had pioneered with the Nylon 66. Its brief three-year run and low production make it one of the more sought-after twentieth-century American rimfire rifles.
