About the Ruger GP100 10mm
The Ruger GP100 10mm is a six-shot double-action revolver chambered in 10mm Auto, produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. as a TALO distributor exclusive. Because the 10mm Auto is a rimless semi-automatic cartridge, the revolver headspaces and extracts its rounds using full-moon clips, which also speed up loading and unloading. Built on the rugged GP100 platform, it uses a solid stainless-steel frame, the signature triple-locking cylinder, and a transfer-bar safety that make it well suited to the higher pressures of full-power 10mm loads. The 3-inch model (Model 1780) pairs a full-length ejector shroud with a fiber-optic front sight and a Novak LoMount adjustable rear sight, blending defensive carry practicality with the accuracy expected of the GP100 line.
Introduced to satisfy demand for a revolver that could shoot the potent 10mm Auto cartridge favored by handgun hunters and outdoorsmen, the GP100 10mm leverages moon-clip technology to tame a rimless semi-automatic round in a wheelgun. The result is a heavy-duty stainless revolver that delivers near-.41 Magnum performance while feeding from inexpensive, widely available 10mm ammunition.

The GP100 in 10mm Auto requires moon clips to fire, as the rimless cartridge cannot headspace on a conventional revolver's recessed chamber mouth. Offered chiefly as TALO distributor exclusives, including a 3-inch Model 1780 with fiber-optic/Novak sights and a longer Match Champion configuration. The double-action trigger pull is approximately 12 pounds (53 N) with a single-action pull near 5 pounds (22 N).
This is a variant of the Ruger GP100 4.2".
