The Ruger LCP Max is a micro-compact semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP, introduced in 2021 as the highest-capacity pocket pistol in its class. By utilizing a staggered-column double-stack magazine design, Ruger achieved a 10+1 capacity in a package nearly identical in size to the single-stack LCP II that held only 6+1. Weighing just 300 grams (10.6 ounces) unloaded with a 71mm (2.8-inch) barrel and 131mm (5.17-inch) overall length, the LCP Max maintains the deep concealment pocketability that made the LCP line famous while nearly doubling magazine capacity. The pistol features a locked-breech, short-recoil action -- an upgrade from the LCP II's simple blowback system -- which helps manage recoil despite the minimal weight. The LCP Max includes tritium-lamped front sights mounted in a traditional dovetail for drift adjustability, a serrated U-notch rear sight, and an internal hammer-fired mechanism with a bladed trigger safety. The single-action trigger breaks at approximately 2.1 kilograms (4 pounds 12 ounces) with a crisp reset. The slide features front and rear serrations, a last-round hold-open, and select models offer an optics-ready slide cut for mounting micro red dot sights.
