The Ruger SP101 .22 LR is a compact, double-action/single-action rimfire revolver built on Ruger's small-frame SP101 platform. Reintroduced in 2011 with an eight-round cylinder, it is machined entirely from stainless steel and pairs a 4.2-inch barrel with an adjustable rear sight and a fiber-optic front sight, making it a popular trainer, plinker, and small-game revolver.

Ruger first introduced the SP101 as a small-frame centerfire defensive revolver in 1989. The eight-shot .22 LR version, added in 2011, gave the rugged platform a low-cost, low-recoil trainer that mirrors the handling of its .38 Special and .357 Magnum siblings.
