The Ruger SR1911 Officer-Style is a subcompact, single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, introduced in 2016 as the smallest variant in the SR1911 family. Built from CNC-machined low-glare stainless steel, the Officer-Style shortens both the slide and grip frame compared to the full-size Government model, creating a significantly more concealable package. The 91mm (3.6-inch) stainless steel bull barrel and compact slide are mated to a shortened grip frame that accepts 7-round magazines, resulting in an overall length of just 184mm (7.25 inches) and an empty weight of approximately 31 ounces (879 grams). The bushingless bull barrel design provides consistent lockup and simplifies field stripping, while the shorter sight radius of approximately 133mm still permits practical accuracy at defensive distances. The pistol retains the SR1911 family's Series 70-type firing system with a titanium firing pin for inertia-safe operation, preserving a crisp single-action trigger pull of approximately 4.75 pounds (21 N). Features include an aluminum skeletonized trigger with adjustable overtravel stop, skeletonized hammer, Novak 3-dot drift-adjustable sights, extended thumb safety and magazine release, beavertail grip safety, oversized ejection port, and checkered G10 grip panels. The Officer-Style ships with two 7-round stainless steel magazines.

The Officer-Style completed Ruger's SR1911 lineup across all three classic 1911 size categories: Government, Commander, and Officer. Where the full-size SR1911 proved Ruger could build a competitive 1911 and the Commander showed they could compact it, the Officer-Style demonstrated that Ruger's investment-cast stainless steel and bushingless bull barrel design could scale down to pocket-friendly dimensions while maintaining the reliability and accuracy that defined the SR1911 family.

The Officer-size 1911 format shortens both the slide and grip frame compared to the Government model, reducing overall length by approximately 36mm and grip height enough to eliminate one round of magazine capacity. This dual reduction makes the Officer-Style notably more concealable than a Commander (which only shortens the slide) but does reduce sight radius and increases felt recoil due to the lighter weight and shorter barrel. The 3.6-inch barrel will reduce .45 ACP muzzle velocity by approximately 50-75 fps compared to a 5-inch Government barrel, though terminal performance remains adequate for defensive use. Ruger also offers the Officer-Style in 9mm with a lightweight aluminum frame (model 6758) that reduces weight to approximately 27.2 ounces, and the 9mm version uses a 9-round flush-fit magazine. The .45 ACP all-stainless model is designated 6762. The bull barrel design (no barrel bushing) is standard across Officer-Style models. The 6-groove barrel maintains the 1:16-inch (406mm) right-hand twist rate consistent with the SR1911 family.
