About the Sako A7

The Sako A7 is a Finnish push-feed bolt-action hunting rifle introduced by Sako in 2008 to sit between the premium controlled-round-feed Sako 85 and the value-priced Tikka T3. Its bolt uses three locking lugs and a short 70-degree lift, feeding from a double-stack staggered magazine fitted with Sako's Total Control Latch that also allows top-loading. The rifle pairs a cold-hammer-forged free-floating barrel with an adjustable single-stage trigger (roughly 500-2000 g) and was offered in short (S) and medium/long (M) action lengths across common hunting chamberings such as .308 Winchester, .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield and .300 Winchester Magnum.

Sako built the A7 to give hunters the accuracy and feel of a Sako at a friendlier price, borrowing the double-stack Total Control Latch magazine so shooters could top up rounds through the ejection port without dropping the box.
