About the Sako M92 S
The Sako M92 S is a Finnish civilian semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, produced by Sako Ltd. as the commercial, semi-auto-only adaptation of the select-fire RK 95 TP service rifle. Built on the same gas-operated, long-stroke piston, rotating-bolt Kalashnikov-derived action as its military parent, the M92 S omits the automatic sear axis so it fires only one round per trigger pull, and most examples ship with a fixed polymer stock rather than the RK 95 TP's side-folding stock. It retains the hammer-forged, chrome-lined 420 mm barrel, 30-round detachable box magazine, and Finnish waffle-pattern receiver, delivering the accuracy and cold-weather reliability the Finnish AK platform is known for in a configuration aimed at civilian and law-enforcement buyers.
The M92 S let civilian shooters own the same Finnish-built Kalashnikov action issued to the Finnish Defence Forces as the RK 95 TP -- one of the few AK-pattern rifles with a hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel and a hidden cleaning-rod compartment in the stock, engineered for reliability in Arctic conditions.

The M92 S was Sako's export/civilian semi-automatic version of the RK 95 TP and was produced in small numbers during the mid-to-late 1990s. It is legally distinguished from the military rifle by the absence of the automatic sear axis. Precise physical specifications largely mirror the parent RK 95 TP; the fixed stock is the most visible external difference.
