About the Sauer Model 3000 Drilling
The Sauer Model 3000 Drilling is a German three-barrel combination gun, with two side-by-side 12 gauge shotgun barrels over a single rifled barrel chambered for a centrefire rifle cartridge such as .30-06 Springfield. A classic break-action hunting drilling, it lets the hunter switch between shot and ball for mixed game using a barrel selector and a pop-up rifle sight.
The drilling is a uniquely German hunting solution: by combining two shotgun barrels with a rifle barrel in one gun, a forester could answer a flushing bird and a charging boar without ever changing weapons.
