The Smith & Wesson Model 22A is a full-size semi-automatic target pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle, produced from 1997 to 2017 as an affordable entry into the rimfire target pistol market. Built with an aluminum alloy frame and blued carbon steel slide and barrel, the 22A features an integrated Weaver-style rail machined into the top of the slide for easy mounting of optics and accessories-a notable innovation for its time that eliminated the need for aftermarket scope mounts.
