About the Verney-Carron Impact
The Verney-Carron Impact is a French pump-action hunting rifle produced by Verney-Carron of Saint-Etienne. Designed for fast follow-up shots during driven (battue) and stalking hunts, it cycles a six-lug rotating bolt head that locks directly into the cold-hammer-forged, free-floating barrel via a sliding fore-end. Chambered in calibres up to .300 Winchester Magnum, it feeds from a detachable box magazine and is offered with walnut, thumbhole and synthetic stocks across the Impact LA and Impact Plus lines.
Verney-Carron, founded in 1820, is among the oldest and largest French sporting-arms makers, based in the historic gunmaking city of Saint-Etienne. The pump-action Impact became one of its signature driven-hunt rifles, prized in continental Europe for rapid cycling without removing the rifle from the shoulder.
