About the Weatherby Element

The Weatherby Element is a semi-automatic hunting shotgun built around an inertia-operated action, offered chiefly in 12 and 20 gauge with a 3-inch chamber. The recoil-driven inertia system keeps the gun light and clean-running with few moving parts, and it ships with interchangeable choke tubes and a 4+1 capacity.

Weatherby, long famous for high-velocity magnum rifle cartridges, introduced the Element as its first inertia-driven autoloading shotgun, bringing the clean simplicity of recoil operation to its hunting-shotgun lineup.

Weatherby Element specifications

Inertia-operated rather than gas-operated; later superseded and complemented by the Element II line. The 28-gauge configuration uses a 2.75-inch chamber and 3+1 capacity.
