About the Weatherby Model 307

The Weatherby Model 307 is a bolt-action centerfire hunting rifle introduced in 2023, the first all-new Weatherby action in more than 50 years. Built around a two-lug, fully cylindrical carbon-steel action with a 90-degree bolt throw, the 307 was deliberately engineered to a Remington 700 footprint so it drops into the vast aftermarket of 700-pattern stocks, chassis, bottom metal, triggers, rails, and AICS-pattern magazines. It uses an M16-style extractor for positive extraction, a tool-less three-piece bolt takedown, and a relocated bolt-release button above the receiver. Rifles ship with a TriggerTech trigger (adjustable to roughly 2.5 lb), 8-40 scope-base screws, and many configurations include a suppressor-ready Accubrake on a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle. The platform spans more than a dozen models from the bare Builders Action to carbon-fiber Alpine CT mountain rifles and Range chassis variants, in roughly 14 chamberings.

Weatherby moved its operations to Sheridan, Wyoming, and the Model 307 - named for the Wyoming area code - marked the company's first ground-up bolt-action design in over half a century, intentionally built to ride the huge Remington 700 aftermarket ecosystem rather than fight it.
