About the Winchester Model 190
The Winchester Model 190 is an American semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges. Introduced in 1967 as an economy version of the Model 290, it uses a simple blowback action fed from a tubular magazine and combines a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver with a plain hardwood stock and forend. Produced through 1980, it was one of Winchester's most popular budget-priced plinking and small-game rifles.
An affordable, reliable .22 that introduced generations of American shooters to plinking, target practice, and small-game hunting through the 1960s and 1970s.
