About the Yildiz TK-36

The Yildiz TK-36 is a lightweight single-barrel, break-action .410 bore shotgun manufactured by Yildiz Silah Sanayi in Burdur, Turkey. Built on a black-anodised aluminium action mated to a 28-inch blued steel barrel with a 3-inch (76mm) magnum chamber and a fixed choke, it uses a folding barrel that hinges flat against the stock for compact storage. The gun weighs a little over 1.4 kg, feeds a single shell via an extractor, and wears a Turkish walnut pistol-grip stock with a brass bead front sight, and is widely marketed as an inexpensive starter, pest-control, and small-game shotgun.

Retailing in the UK for around £199, the TK-36 was reviewed as weighing 'no more than a bag and a half of sugar,' its folding barrel making it one of the most packable and affordable .410 shotguns on the market.

Safety

  • Top tang safety

The folding design lets the 28-inch barrel drop flat against the stock, roughly halving the stored length. The 3-inch chamber also accepts 2.5-inch and 2-inch .410 shells. Sources list the fixed choke variously as 1/2 (modified) or full. Length of pull is about 13.5 inches, making it suitable for younger or smaller-framed shooters. A non-ejector: fired cases are lifted by an extractor for manual removal.
