About the Brno Model 2

The Brno Model 2 is a Czechoslovak magazine-fed bolt-action rimfire rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle. Introduced in 1954 by Zbrojovka Brno as a refinement of the earlier Model 1 (ZKM-451) training rifle, it featured a more sophisticated trigger, a vented bolt, a narrower ejection port, an adjustable tangent rear sight, and a side-mounted bolt safety. Built on a quality walnut stock with a cold-hammer-forged barrel, the Model 2 (ZKM-452) earned a lasting reputation for accuracy and craftsmanship, and its basic design evolved into the long-running CZ 452 series.

Developed in the years after the Second World War when the Czechoslovak Ministry of Defence requested a new .22 LR training rifle, the Brno Model 2 became one of the most respected rimfire rifles of the mid-20th century, with its lineage continuing through the celebrated CZ 452.

Brno Model 2 specifications

Factory designation ZKM-452. The design migrated to Uhersky Brod and continued in production as the CZ 452 until 2017, when it was replaced by the CZ 455.
