Rare, low production rifle with matching numbers & intact MUM! This highly collectable WW2 Imperial Japanese Type 38 Arisaka with intact MUM is in great condition with the usual battlefield knocks to the wood & uniquely, comes with a bayonet complete with scabbard made by a very rare manufacturer, namely Aisan Kogyo plus it comes with an original sling! It is common knowledge that at the end of the war, all surrendered Japanese rifles had the MUM either ground, scrubbed or somehow defaced lending credence to the story that this is a battlefield capture. Correctly chambered in 6.5mm, this rifle was manufactured for the Imperial Japanese Empire military between 1934-1940 by the Mukden Arsenal in Japanese occupied Manchuria. Records show Mukden Arsenal had a recorded serial number range of less than 30,000 indicating these were manufactured in limited numbers with the corresponding value which accompanies rarity, as along with the wartime attrition rate, most that survived the war would have been destroyed along with the remaining Japanese war materiel, post surrender. The condition is great as can be seen in the photos & the bore is plenty good enough to be a shooter (Arisakas were the first military rifles to utilise chrome lined bores). All visible numbers match & these simply don’t come along often. They have, in our experience become harder to find with matching numbers & in original condition, with MUM intact, almost unicorn like. Do your own research & you will know if this is for you.
