Arisaka Type 38

Description

In mint condition as refinished, this is a beautiful example of what a WW2 Type 38 Arisaka of the Imperial Japanese Army would have looked like when it left the factory back in early WW2! This is a highly collectable Japanese Arisaka Type 38 in the long rifle configuration. It comes complete with the dust cover & the the Emperors Chrysanthemum (MUM) is intact but has been buffed when it was reblued meaning the rifle was taken with the MUM intact. As you'd know, those rifles handed in at the end of the war had the MUM defaced or removed, often rather crudely ground off in many cases. This is one for the collector who wants one to fill that spot in their collection with the finest available Type 38 Arisaka, completely original condition or not. If you're not overly concerned about it having to be ‘original’ but want mint, this may be the one for you! What we can say is that whoever refurbished this rifle knew what they were doing, as this has been stripped & hot blued by a professional for sure, as it just looks new! We are offering this rifle as a collectable piece of military history & acknowledge the grievous atrocities committed by the Imperial Japanese Empire & some of its military, particularly toward the peoples of occupied territories in Asia. In no way do we condone or glorify the Imperial Japanese Empire which must be remembered for the vile stain on human history that it was.
