Browning BBR .270 Win

.270 Win

Description

The Browning BBR (Browning Bolt Rifle) is a well-built and somewhat underappreciated bolt-action rifle, known for its strong action design, smooth operation, and classic hunting rifle aesthetics. Introduced in the late 1970s, the BBR marked Browning’s transition to a modern, in-house bolt-action platform, moving away from earlier FN Mauser-based rifles and into a new generation of sporting arms. Manufactured in Japan by Miroku—renowned for high-quality firearm production—the BBR features a robust multi-lug bolt design with a cylindrical receiver, providing excellent strength and reliable lock-up. Its smooth cycling and solid construction made it a popular choice among hunters, particularly in traditional calibres like the .270 Winchester. Chambered in .270 Winchester, this rifle offers flat-shooting performance and excellent versatility for medium to large game, making it a highly practical field rifle. Combined with its Monte Carlo timber stock and classic styling, the BBR delivers both functional performance and timeless appeal. This example presents in good condition with excellent mechanical function and minor cosmetic damage.  Key Features: Action: Browning BBR bolt-action Caliber: .270 Winchester Barrel: Standard sporting barrel  Stock: Timber Monte Carlo stock with cheekpiece Magazine: Hinged floorplate with detachable internal magazine system Bolt: Multi-lug bolt (9-lug design) Trigger: Standard Browning trigger system Safety: Tang-mounted safety Condition Very Good Sights Leupold 3x9 Vari-X II Barrel 24" Magazine Capacity 5 Serial Number 12458RN117
