Mauser 1944 Kar98k

In Excellent Original & Unrestored Condition! Sourced from the US & offered for sale is this very nice example of a late war pre-Kriegsmodell Kar98k fitted with the rare solid walnut stock, as occurred occasionally when they intermittently came available to the Mauser factory. Unsurprisingly, this rifle is not all matching but it is in original, unrestored condition as it was when it was taken home by a USGI as a war trophy in the aftermath of WW2. By 1944, German production of the Kar98k was at its highest despite the very real pressure being applied to German production facilities, including the strategic bombing of the Mauser factory. This rifle has been kept in the field using whatever parts the German Unit armourer had in his box, including the 'winter trigger guard' but is not an RC & retains both the cleaning rod & original sight hood, which are usually lost over time. If you have been looking out for the iconic cupped butt plate, mid war K98 with the large bolt takedown disc, here it is. Do your own research & you will know if this is for you.
