Offered for sale is this almost new rifle with a round count of 60! This rifle has it all...stainless steel barrel action mated to a Bell & Carlson stock fitted with a quality Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50 scope mounted on MDT rings over a picatinny rail! Built off the legendary 700 action, the Remington 700 5-R sets the benchmark for accuracy & durability. Much like M-24, the barrel is cold hammer forged & features 5-R rifling with the desirable 1-10 twist rate for heavier bullets. The 5R rifling profile increases barrel life expectancy, accuracy & creates less fouling & bullet deformation over time. Whether you are a benchrest shooter or big game hunter, look no further for better reliability & precision. 5-R rifling is the same type of rifling used on the battle proven M-24 SWS. There are 5 lands as opposed to the normal 6 land configuration. Traditional lands are squared off at a 90 degree angle to the groove while the lands on 5-R rifling are tapered at 110 degrees which results in less bullet deformation. Also, none of the lands are directly across from one another. Both of these features lead to better accuracy & less fouling. This is great value with the rifle worth $2,000 new plus the B&C stock is worth $700 on it's own & the scope being around the same if not more (not to mention the MDT rings & pic rail)! We are not going to try & rate the condition out of 100 as everyone seems to have a different opinion on what the percentages should be, so we'll let the pictures be the description.
