Description

The Webley Mark IV is a classic British double-action revolver chambered in .38 S&W, developed as a lighter and more compact service sidearm than the earlier large-frame Webley revolvers. Introduced in the late 1920s, the .38-calibre Mark IV became closely associated with British military, police and Commonwealth service and remains one of the most recognisable British service revolvers of the 20th century. Built around Webley’s top-break action, the Mark IV allows the barrel and cylinder assembly to pivot downward for loading. Opening the action simultaneously operates the automatic extractor, ejecting the fired cases and allowing the revolver to be reloaded quickly.  With its distinctive top-break mechanism, military heritage and traditional Webley construction, the Mark IV is an appealing example of the British service revolver and is well suited to collectors of historic military and Commonwealth firearms.
