About the Browning X-Bolt Target Max

The Browning X-Bolt Target Max is a precision competition rifle from one of America's most storied firearms manufacturers, designed to bring Browning's engineering heritage to the growing precision rifle and long-range shooting market. Built on the proven X-Bolt action with a 60-degree bolt throw, the Target Max features a 26-inch stainless steel bull barrel that is fluted to reduce weight and increase surface area for faster heat dissipation during extended shooting sessions. The matte-blue steel receiver pairs with the stainless barrel for a distinctive two-tone appearance. The Browning Target Deluxe trigger is factory-set at 2 pounds 6.4 ounces with an adjustable pull, providing the clean break competitive shooters demand. A 20-MOA Picatinny rail comes pre-installed for optimal scope mounting, and the 10-round detachable box magazine provides ample capacity for competition stages. The black composite stock features a vertical pistol grip and textured grip panels for a secure hold. At 9 pounds 14 ounces, the Target Max provides the heft needed for stable precision shooting from bench, prone, or barricade positions. The X-Bolt action's bolt unlock button allows the bolt to be operated with the safety engaged, a useful feature for safely unloading between competition stages.

The X-Bolt Target Max represents Browning's answer to the precision rifle boom, applying the company's century-plus legacy of firearms innovation to a market segment dominated by boutique manufacturers. Named NRA American Rifleman Gun of the Week, the Target Max proved that a major manufacturer could deliver competition-grade precision at a price point that makes long-range shooting accessible to a wider audience.
