About the Chiappa M1-9
The Chiappa M1-9 is an Italian-made, 9x19mm pistol-caliber carbine styled after the classic World War II M1 Carbine, built by Chiappa Firearms. Rather than a gas-operated .30 Carbine action, the M1-9 uses a simple, robust straight-blowback mechanism with a deliberately heavy bolt carrier to manage 9mm Parabellum pressures, making it reliable and easy to maintain. It feeds from standard Beretta 92-pattern magazines - typically supplied with two 10-round magazines, with 15-, 17-, and 30-round magazines fitting and feeding as well - and carries the M1 Carbine's familiar profile, adjustable M1-style sights, manual safety, and a choice of wood or polymer stock. It is sold as an affordable, low-recoil range and plinking carbine that pairs well with a 9mm sidearm.
Chiappa reimagined the GI carbine for a new era - keeping the M1's beloved silhouette but swapping the gas system for a simple 9mm blowback action that feeds from the same Beretta 92 magazines a shooter already carries in their pistol.

Receiver is an alloy/aluminum casting with a steel barrel and bolt; the heavy bolt carrier is what allows blowback operation in 9mm. The sibling Chiappa M1-22 reproduces the same M1 Carbine styling in .22 LR rimfire. Magazine compatibility with the widely available Beretta 92 platform is a key selling point.
