About the Beretta Cx4 Storm

The Beretta Cx4 Storm is a pistol-caliber carbine introduced in 2003, designed by Beretta as a sporting, personal-defense, and law-enforcement companion to the Px4 Storm pistol. It uses a straight blowback action and accepts magazines from the Beretta 92/96, 8000 Cougar, and Px4 Storm pistol families through swappable magazine wells. The Cx4 features fully ambidextrous controls - fire selector, charging handle, ejection port, and magazine release can all be reversed - and is offered in 9x19mm Parabellum, 9x21mm IMI, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.

Designed alongside the Px4 Storm pistol as a matched system, the Cx4 was Beretta's pitch that a household could share magazines between the bedside pistol and the home-defense carbine - a marketing idea aimed squarely at American shooters who already owned a Beretta 92.
