About the Crosman 2240

The Crosman 2240 is a single-shot, bolt-action CO2-powered air pistol chambered for .22 caliber (5.5mm) pellets. Powered by a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge, it pushes pellets to roughly 460 fps (about 140 m/s) from a 7.5-inch rifled steel barrel, delivering around 7 ft-lbs of energy. Introduced in 1999, the 2240 is prized for its accuracy, ergonomic ambidextrous grip and extreme aftermarket customizability, making it a long-standing favorite for target practice, plinking and pest control.

Crosman, founded in 1923, became one of America's best-known airgun makers. The 2240 inherited the action lineage of the earlier 22xx pneumatic pistols and grew into a cult platform whose modifiability spawned an entire cottage industry of custom parts.
