About the CZ 455
The CZ 455 is a Czech bolt-action rimfire rifle introduced in 2010 as the modular successor to the long-running CZ 452. Its defining feature is a swappable barrel system held by twin set-screws that lets a single action accept .22 LR, .22 WMR, or .17 HMR barrels without specialized tools. Stocks are also fully interchangeable across the 455 product family. Most models were discontinued in 2018 and replaced by the CZ 457, which retained backward compatibility with most 455 magazines and barrels.
The CZ 455 was the first rimfire to make caliber switching as easy as a screwdriver swap, letting the same rifle plink with .22 LR in the morning and varmint hunt with .17 HMR by lunchtime. Its modularity and accuracy made it a favorite trainer for centerfire bolt-gun shooters on a budget.
