About the CZ All-American

The CZ All-American is a 12-gauge over/under competition shotgun produced by Česká zbrojovka and marketed through CZ-USA, introduced around 2014. Purpose-built for trap, sporting clays, and other clay-target disciplines, it packs a full suite of competition adjustments into a value-priced package. The break-action gun chambers 3-inch shells and is offered with 30-inch and 32-inch barrels, both fitted with lengthened forcing cones and muzzle ports to soften felt recoil. A four-way adjustable Monte Carlo comb tunes vertically for height and laterally for cast, while the adjustable buttplate hardware allows length-of-pull adjustment from roughly 14.6 to 15.5 inches, letting a shooter fit the gun precisely to their build and gun mount. The mechanical, non-selective trigger fires the bottom barrel first and can be slid fore and aft on the tang. Five extended screw-in chokes, ventilated top and side ribs, and a chrome-lined overbored barrel set round out a competition platform aimed squarely at the high-volume clay shooter.

Despite the patriotic name and its popularity on American trap ranges, the CZ All-American is a Czech-rooted design distributed by CZ-USA, built to undercut the premium Italian and Japanese over/unders that dominate competitive clay shooting while still offering the adjustable comb, ported barrels, and extended choke set that serious trap shooters expect.

CZ All-American specifications

The All-American line includes the base sporting/All-American model, the Trap Combo (a two-barrel set pairing an over/under barrel set with a single barrel for trap configurations), and the Single Trap. Both barrels are ported and the bores are overbored to approximately .737 inch with lengthened forcing cones. The trigger is mechanical and non-selective, always firing the lower barrel first, and is adjustable approximately 1/8 inch fore and aft. Measured trigger pulls run roughly 3 pounds (lower) and 2.4 pounds (upper). Chokes ship as a five-tube extended set (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Light Modified, Modified, Improved Modified). Capacity of 2 reflects the two chambers of the over/under barrel set.
