About the Dakota Model 10 Single Shot

The Dakota Model 10 Single Shot is a premium falling-block single-shot rifle built by Dakota Arms of South Dakota. Introduced in 1990, its lever-operated falling-block action is machined from prehardened billet steel, with the rear of the breechblock and receiver forming solid walls of steel that leave no path for escaping gases to reach the shooter. Trim, light and elegant, it is offered in a wide range of chamberings up to powerful magnums such as the .375 H&H Magnum for dangerous-game hunting, and is prized as a hand-built sporting and safari rifle.

Dakota Arms was founded by gunmaker Don Allen and Pete Grisel in Sturgis, South Dakota. The Model 10 falling block was conceived as a modern, refined take on the classic single-shot hunting rifle in the spirit of the Ruger No. 1 and vintage British stalking rifles, hand-fitted for hunters who value one well-placed shot.
