About the Glock 44

The Glock 44 is Glock's first rimfire pistol, chambered in .22 Long Rifle and introduced in 2020. Built on the compact Glock 19 frame footprint, it pairs a polymer frame with a unique lightweight hybrid slide that combines a steel insert encased in a polymer shell, reducing weight and felt recoil. It uses a simple blowback action, ships with adjustable sights and the Glock Marksman Barrel, and accepts the same accessory rail and holster ecosystem as the Glock 19, making it a popular low-cost trainer and recreational plinker.

After decades of building only centerfire pistols, Glock finally entered the rimfire market in 2020 with the G44 - and to make a .22 LR reliably cycle Glock's heavy slide design, engineers invented a hybrid slide with a steel breech insert wrapped in polymer, a first for the company.
