About the Schmeisser Model 2
The Schmeisser Model 2 is a compact .25 ACP blowback pocket pistol designed by Hugo Schmeisser and produced by C.G. Haenel of Suhl, Germany. Introduced in 1927 as a smaller, simplified evolution of the Schmeisser Model 1, it was a striker-fired vest-pocket pistol aimed at the civilian self-defense and concealed-carry market of the Weimar Republic. It retained the line's hallmark loaded-chamber indicator and magazine safety while shaving size and weight for deeper concealment.
The Schmeisser pocket pistols were designed by Hugo Schmeisser, better known for the WWI-era MP18 submachine gun. Working at C.G. Haenel under post-Versailles restrictions, he and his brother Hans adapted family patents into a refined line of vest-pocket automatics, of which the Model 2 was the most compact.

The Model 2 (Model II) is markedly smaller than the Model 1, with a roughly 50 mm barrel and a six-round magazine. Hard rubber grip panels carried the intertwined 'SH' Schmeisser monogram. Production ended around 1932.
